Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Head Constable positions in 2026, candidates must meet specific educational and age requirements.

1. Educational Qualification

HC (Ministerial): Intermediate (10+2) from a recognized board with typing proficiency (35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi).

HC (Communication): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or a 3-year Diploma in Electronics/CS/IT.

HC (Mechanic): Matriculation (10th) with a Diploma in Automobile/Motor Mechanical Engineering and a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

2. Age Limit

The general age bracket is 18 to 25 years, though certain technical posts like HC (Mechanic) allow up to 27 years. Age relaxations apply as per government norms (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years).

The Selection Process

The SSB recruitment follows a rigorous multi-stage process to ensure only the most fit and capable candidates are selected.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): A race to test endurance (e.g., 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds for males).

Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of height, chest (for males), and weight.

Written Examination: A 100-mark test covering General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Language.

Skill/Typing Test: Specifically for Ministerial and technical roles.

Medical Examination: Final verification of physical and mental health standards.

How to Download the SSB HC 2026 Admit Card

If you are appearing for the physical tests starting this January, follow these steps to secure your hall ticket:

Visit the official SSB recruitment portal at ssbrectt.gov.in.

Locate the link titled "Download PET/PST Admit Card for HC (Ministerial)".

Enter your Registration ID and Password (or Date of Birth).

Input the Captcha code and click 'Submit'.

Print your admit card on A4 paper and ensure the photograph is clear.

Note: Entry to the recruitment center is strictly prohibited without a printed admit card and a valid government-issued photo ID.

Preparation Tips for PET/PST

Morning Runs: Start training for the 1.6 km run immediately to build stamina.

Documentation: Prepare a folder with your original 10th/12th certificates, caste certificates, and domicile documents, as verification often happens alongside physical tests.
